Piers Morgan insists he is not unwell despite croaky voice

Piers Morgan reassures Good Morning Britain viewers that he is not unwell but admits he is feeling the pressure of having to do his own makeup.

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan has allayed viewers' concerns that he is unwell after speaking with a "croaky" voice.

The 55-year-old insisted on Monday's show that his sore throat was a result of too much "shouting" and today claimed that having to do his own makeup has left him a sweaty mess.

"Do you know what, I actually feel quite hot and sweaty," he told co-host Susanna Reid. "It's not a need to go to Dr Hilary - it's the pressure of doing my own makeup as the clock ticks. I start hearing 'two minutes, 90 seconds, a minute'.

"I've actually developed a slight sweat. It's a pressure sweat."

Morgan has upped his role on the show from three days a week to four in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
