Essex-based Baggs family 'dropped from Gogglebox after one series'

Gogglebox producers reportedly axe the Baggs family after just one series.

The Baggs family have reportedly been dropped from Gogglebox after just one series.

The Essex-based clan - mother Lisa, father Terry and sons Joe and George - joined the show last autumn as producers looked for new families following the temporary loss of fan favourites Mary and Marina due to coronavirus restrictions.

According to the Daily Star, producers decided against inviting the family back for the new series, which started last week, after they failed to create much of an impression with viewers.

"The Baggs family are out of the show and won't be appearing any more," a source told the newspaper. "They only lasted one series. It was short and sweet.

"[They] are on good terms with producers so there will always be a possibility that they'll return at some point."

Gogglebox continues Friday nights at 9pm on Channel 4.
