Elle Mulvaney pens a new deal to stay in the role of Amy Barlow on Coronation Street for another 12 months.

Elle Mulvaney has confirmed that she has signed a new deal to stay on Coronation Street for at least another year.

The 21-year-old has played the role of Amy Barlow - daughter of Tracy (Kate Ford) and Steve (Simon Gregson) - since she was aged just eight years old and in recent years has become an increasingly key cast member.

Mulvaney's latest 12-month deal is in keeping with Corrie's long-standing policy of offering the cast only one-year contract extensions at a time, regardless of how long they have been on the soap.

"I signed for another year - it's such a wonderful thing to be able to go into work and just love your job, even still after 13 years," she told The Sun.

"What more could you ask for a job that you love with people that you love, with great stories. I've got such great role models.

"The people I'm around are just brilliant actors and actresses when you look at people like Bill who plays Ken, he's been there for more than 60 years!"

Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
