Kirsty Gallacher joins new station GB News as part of its breakfast presenting team.

Experienced broadcaster Kirsty Gallacher has been named as the latest addition to the presenting team for the upcoming GB News channel.

The new station - due to launch in the next few months - is being masterminded by the veteran broadcaster Andrew Neil and already has respected names including Colin Brazier and Simon McCoy on board.

Gallacher, 45, is most known for hosting Sky Sports and Sky Sports News for almost 20 years and has also presented Soccer Aid and Channel 4's short-lived breakfast show RI:SE.

In a statement, GB News confirmed that Gallacher will be part of the team for its flagship weekday breakfast show.

"Kirsty's warmth, openness and welcoming style is what GB News is all about," said the channel's head of programming John McAndrew. "She's a hugely skilled broadcaster and a fantastic addition to the GB News family."

An exact launch date for the channel has yet to be revealed, although last week it is thought to have started test transmissions on Sky.
