Armie Hammer enters a private rehab facility in Florida for treatment of sex, alcohol and drugs issues.

Armie Hammer has entered a rehab facility in Florida following the string of allegations against him over the last few months.

Earlier this year multiple women came forward to allege psychological and sexual abuse at the hands of the actor, who issued a strong denial at the time the initial claims were made.

Through his lawyer, the Call Me By Your Name star also denied the most serious of the allegations, made by a woman who alleged that she had been raped and forced into non-consensual BDSM activity by him.

Since then, however, Hammer has been dropped by his acting agent and his publicist, as well as every film, TV and stage production that he was due to appear in.

According to Vanity Fair, the 34-year-old entered the facility to deal with sex, drugs and alcohol issues on May 31 after an emotional goodbye with his young children and estranged wife Elizabeth Chambers.

"Everyone looks at Armie thinking that he's had some sort of privileged life - and that must mean there were no problems in his youth and everything was peachy keen," a source described as "a close friend" told the publication.

"But that's not necessarily the way things go. Just because you come from an upbringing where financial resources are plentiful doesn't mean life isn't without problems.

"This is a clear sign that he is taking back control [of] his life and knows that this [is] a step towards his overall wellbeing."

Hammer is not said to have an end date on his stay in rehab and is prepared to stay "as long as it takes to get healthy".
