Marin Cilic promises "risky tennis"

Croatia's Marin Cilic admits that he will have to play "risky tennis" if he faces defending champion Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon quarter-finals.

Marin Cilic has said that he will play "risky tennis" if he faces world number one Novak Djokovic in the quarter-finals at Wimbledon.

The US Open champion is already through to the last eight after beating American Denis Kudla, but must wait to learn who he will face as the defending champion returns for a fifth set against Kevin Anderson this afternoon.

The ninth seed told reporters: "In the game where Novak is playing at the speed that he's playing, of course, that's the speed that he's going to be better at, so I'm going to have to be more aggressive to play more risky tennis.

"Of course that leaves less margins for error, but that's the way I was playing last year. I think this would be the best opportunity for me to try to play full on.

"Obviously these two matches, the last ones, third round and second round gave me little bit more confidence as winning in five does this. So really confident for the next match."

Cilic also reached the quarter-finals at Wimbledon last year, but has never progressed to the semis.
