Wasps confirm Frank Halai arrival

Wasps announce that New Zealand wing Frank Halai will join the club at the end of the season.

Wasps have confirmed that New Zealand winger Frank Halai will join the club from next season.

The 26-year-old currently plays for Super Rugby side Blues, where he has scored 13 tries in 31 games.

Halai has made one appearance for the All Blacks and has also represented New Zealand Sevens.

"We are delighted to have signed Frank Halai from the Auckland Blues. Frank is incredibly strong and powerful, with great pace and he has already shown his potential through playing for the All Blacks," Wasps director of rugby Dai Young told the club's official website.

"Being able to attract players of Frank's calibre, in their prime, is a reflection of the upward curve the club is following. We have made no secret of our ambition to become a top four side and recruiting players of his ability will help us take another step towards achieving that goal in the coming seasons."

Wasps are currently in fourth place in the Aviva Premiership table, 12 points adrift of leaders Northampton Saints.
