Peter Stringer says that he is "grateful" to Bath for signing him on loan following a "frustrating" period at Munster.

Munster scrum-half Peter Stringer has expressed his gratitude towards Bath for agreeing to sign him on a two-month loan deal.

The 35-year-old has failed to keep a place in the Munster side and has since slipped down the rankings behind Duncan Williams and Conor Murray.

"I'm really grateful to them for giving me the opportunity to play," Stringer told BBC Radio Bristol.

"It's been very frustrating [at Munster]. I still have an ambition and drive to play at the highest level. That's why I looked to move away and thankfully Bath gave me an opportunity."

Stringer has been a Munster player since 1998.
