Channel 4 begins casting for new murder mystery reality show Murder Island.

Channel 4 has begun casting for a new reality show called Murder Island.

The new series will feature pairs of contestants attempting to solve a fictional murder using real-life police resources including pathologists, forensic scientists and psychologists.

The teams will compete against each other to identify the right suspect first and bring them to justice.

The show, which will air later this year, is similar in format to The Murder Game, which aired on BBC One 18 years ago - albeit with the contestants themselves also being eliminated by "the killer" over the course of the series.

Producers STV are now seeking applications for the show for the rest of the month and have indicated that it will be filmed in May under coronavirus-safe guidelines.
