Anna Richardson is named as the replacement for Davina McCall on Channel 4's reboot of Changing Rooms.

Channel 4 has confirmed Anna Richardson as the host of its upcoming Changing Rooms reboot.

The home makeover show originally aired on the BBC between 1996 and 2004 but is being brought back later this year for a new run on Channel 4.

When the project was first announced, Davina McCall was named as the host but production delays caused by coronavirus meant that she has had to drop out because of other work commitments.

Richardson - best known for hosting C4's Naked Attraction - has now taken over from McCall, with Emma Willis and Stacey Solomon having also been considered for the role.

"She was in the final stages alongside Stacey and Emma and ultimately, Anna's diary won out and she could make all the filming dates," a source told The Sun.

"As a seasoned presenter with a great sense of humour, Anna appears to be the perfect choice for Changing Rooms.

"She's been given a free reign to make the role her own, so fans of the show can expect a lot of laughs when the reboot finally gets to air."

The new series, which will also feature the return of original home designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, will begin filming this summer.
