Preview: Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Fulham

Sports Mole looks ahead to Tuesday's Championship match at Molineux as Wolverhampton Wanderers and Fulham meet for the fourth time this season.

The playoffs are in sight again for Wolverhampton Wanderers as they prepare to host out-of-form Fulham in the Championship on Tuesday.

Kenny Jackett's side have rediscovered their attacking prowess with nine goals in the two recent wins over Huddersfield Town and Rotherham United that sandwich the 2-0 defeat at Norwich City, which was only Wolves' second loss since early December.

On Saturday they put five unanswered goals past Rotherham to cut the gap to the top six to five points as most of the sides above faltered.

Benik Afobe scored two and set up another to take his tally to five goals in seven games since joining last month and there was also a first Wolves goal since October for Bakary Sako, who continues to be linked with a summer move to nearby West Bromwich Albion.

There was also a first appearance of the season for Kevin Doyle from the bench and he will now hope to play a key role for Wolves in the closing months of the season.

Jackett has no reason to change his starting lineup and is likely to go with the same side that dealt with Rotherham so convincingly.

While Wolves are on the up, 19th-placed Fulham are looking over their shoulders as just five points separate them from the bottom three.

Kit Symons's side are without a win in five league games, collecting just two points from a possible 15 to plummet into the relegation dogfight.

One of those points came on Saturday as they only managed a goalless draw against Millwall - the bottom-three side closest to escaping the drop.

Tomorrow's game may come too soon for Fernando Amorebieta, but Tim Hoogland is close to a first-team return after featuring for the Under-21s since recovering from a hernia problem. Bryan Ruiz could also be recalled to the starting XI.

These two sides have met three times already this season, with Wolves edging the reverse 1-0 in the league before Fulham won a two-legged FA Cup third-round tie on penalties on their last visit to Molineux.

The Cottagers' last non-penalty victory in the Black Country was 30 years ago and they haven't won any of their last five away games, losing four.
