West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce survives the sack?

Reports suggest that a bad result against Cardiff City could see Sam Allardyce dismissed as manager of West Ham United.

Sam Allardyce has reportedly survived crisis talks at West Ham United with the club mired in the Premier League relegation battle.

The Hammers have won just three league games this season and sit 19th in the table, although they are only three points from safety.

According to The Telegraph, co-owner David Sullivan and vice chairman Karren Brady had words with the 59-year-old coach following Wednesday's 2-1 defeat at fellow strugglers Fulham.

The former Bolton Wanderers, Newcastle United and Blackburn Rovers boss has kept his job, with reports suggesting that an unfortunate run of injuries has seen him spared the sack.

However, it is thought that his position will come under review once more should West Ham lose at Cardiff City in their next league outing on January 11.

Meanwhile, the East Londoners take on Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.
