Vancouver Whitecaps come from two goals down to get a point at home to FC Dallas in the MLS Western Conference today.

Vancouver Whitecaps have come from two goals down to draw with Western Conference leaders FC Dallas in their MLS encounter.

The point means that Vancouver remain in the bottom half of the table, while Dallas are 11 points clear at the top.

Dallas were awarded a penalty after just two minutes when Gershon Koffie brought down Jackson, but Michel's spot kick was saved by Joe Cannon.

Cannon then set Vancouver on the break, with Nigel Reo-Coker leading the charge. The former West Ham United man played in Darren Mattocks, but the forward couldn't find the back of the net from just inside the box.

Within 10 minutes, Dallas were ahead. After missing a free-header from Michel's corner, Kenny Cooper found space on the right before crossing the ball. Andy O'Brien was on hand to clear but inadvertently sent the ball past his own goalkeeper.

Jackson missed with a long-range effort just before the break, but it didn't matter as two minutes into the second half Matt Hedges headed the ball in from six yards out to give Dallas a two-goal lead.

A minute later Mattocks hit the post as Vancouver began their fightback, before Camilo Da Silva Sanvezzo and Lee Young-Pyo also missed good chances.

With 20 minutes left, though, they were back in it when Mattocks found space in the box and finished well from Tommy Heinemann's pass.

Sanvezzo equalised within five minutes with a powerful shot from just inside the box and Vancouver pushed for a winner.

In their frustration Dallas saw Jackson sent off with five minutes to go, after reacting angrily to a bad tackle and raising an arm, but it didn't cost them as they hung on for a point.
