Tottenham Hotspur would reportedly be willing to accept a bid of £50m for Christian Eriksen during the closing stages of the European transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur would reportedly be willing to sell Christian Eriksen this summer should they receive a bid of £50m or more.

The Danish playmaker poured doubt over his future earlier this summer by admitting that he would be interested in a new challenge, with just one year remaining on his current contract in North London.

However, there has been a lack of concrete interest in Eriksen, leaving Spurs facing the possibility of losing him for free next year if they are unable to agree an extension.

Real Madrid are considered the most likely to make a move before the European transfer window closes on September 2 having missed out on Paul Pogba, and the Daily Mail reports that Daniel Levy and Mauricio Pochettino would sanction an exit if a bid of £50m or more arrived.

Pochettino is happy to keep the 27-year-old in his squad but admitted earlier this week that it is a "difficult situation" for both the player and the club.

Eriksen was left out of the starting lineup for Tottenham's opening league game of the season but returned for the draw with Manchester City and is expected to feature against Newcastle United on Monday.
