Harry Kane is reportedly not in any rush to hold extensive discussions about a new Tottenham Hotspur contract.

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly have to remain patient when it comes to holding contract talks with Harry Kane.

During the summer of 2021, it was well-documented that Kane had an offer to join Manchester City, only for Spurs to hold firm with their stance that their most prized asset was not for sale.

However, that came when their long-serving forward had three years remaining on his contract, the situation having now changed with just over 18 months left on his existing terms.

The North Londoners will inevitably want to progress with discussions with the 29-year-old ahead of him receiving widespread interest in his signature.

Nevertheless, according to Football Insider, it appears unlikely that Kane will entertain negotiations with the powers-that-be at the current time.

The report claims that the England international wants to see the result of any contract talks between the club and head coach Antonio Conte before making any decisions on his future.

The Italian's stay at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is currently due to conclude at the end of the season, another situation which the Spurs hierarchy must resolve as a matter of urgency.

Although the same outlet claims that Spurs are prepared to hand Conte a deal worth £20m per year, it appears that there will be no advanced talks until during the World Cup.

Conte has won 30 of his 50 matches in charge of Spurs in all competitions, guiding the club to a return to the Champions League for this campaign and currently helping his team to third spot in the Premier League, level on points with defending champions Manchester City.

As far as Kane is concerned, he has enjoyed an impressive start to the season, chipping in with nine goals and one assist from 10 top-flight appearances.

Although just one additional strike has been netted in the Champions League, Spurs are one win away from booking their place in the last 16 of the competition with two matches remaining in Group D.

Should Kane not sign a new long-term contract by the end of the year, he will naturally be linked with other clubs, including Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

Despite Conte and Kane dismissing speculation in the past, it was reported last week that Bayern are prepared to pay £87.5m to sign a like-for-like replacement for Robert Lewandowski.

Kane is yet to win a piece of silverware with Spurs, another factor in his decision-making process over the coming months.
