Tottenham Hotspur's all-time record goalscorer Harry Kane was reportedly prohibited from attending the club's training ground prior to completing his move to Bayern Munich.

Tottenham Hotspur's all-time record goalscorer Harry Kane was reportedly banned from attending the club's training ground ahead of his move to Bayern Munich.

Kane's future was the centre of transfer speculation for the majority of the summer after he entered the final 12 months of his contract.

Following lengthy negotiations between Bayern and Tottenham, a deal was agreed between the two clubs, leaving it up to Kane to decide whether to complete a move to Germany.

The England captain gave the green light and subsequently joined the German champions, putting pen to paper on a contract until June 2027.

While a deal was being finalised, Kane allegedly informed Tottenham of his desire to return to training ahead of the club's opening Premier League fixture in case the move to Bayern fell through.

According to The Telegraph, Kane was verbally told that it would not be appropriate for him to return to the club's training ground at that time.

The report claims that the club's verbal message was reiterated in an email, which prevented Kane from saying any face-to-face goodbyes.

Kane has subsequently phoned his former teammates and Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou to say his farewells.

There is a belief that Kane's family were unable to access the player's personal suite at Tottenham's stadium, and they had to rely on personal belongings being sent to them.

While Kane's representatives have not commented on the situation, Tottenham have denied banning the striker, insisting that he is welcome back at any time.

A Tottenham spokesperson said: "Following the agreement of a deal with Bayern Munich, Harry was given permission to travel to Germany and so was not required to train.

"He is expected to return to the club as soon as he can to say his goodbyes. Harry and Daniel [Levy] have exchanged messages including best wishes on the birth of his son, Henry. As conveyed publicly, he is regarded fondly by all at the club and is always welcome."

Kane left Tottenham as the club's all-time record scorer after racking up 280 goals in 435 competitive appearances.

The forward has continued to find the net with ease since making the move to Germany, scoring three goals in Bayern Munich's opening two league games.

After featuring in Saturday's away meeting with Borussia Monchengladbach, Kane will link up with the England squad for a Euro 2024 qualifier against Ukraine and a friendly encounter with Scotland.
