Dele Alli: 'It is sad to see Christian Eriksen leave'

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli says that it was sad to see Christian Eriksen leave the club for Inter Milan last month.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli has said that it was sad to see Christian Eriksen leave the club for Inter Milan last month.

Eriksen left Spurs for around £16.9m in January to join up with Antonio Conte and his side in Serie A, having joined the club from Ajax in 2013.

Speaking to the London Evening Standard, Alli said: "It was sad for me and the other boys because he got on with everyone, he was a great squad player, he got on well, he was great in training and always working hard on the pitch.

"He gave me a lot of assists as well and I am going to miss them, but at the same time I wish him all the best and I am sure we will speak soon, maybe go for dinner."

Eriksen made 305 appearances for Spurs, scoring 69 goals and registering 89 assists, and most notably helped the club to the Champions League final in May 2019.

Under former coach Mauricio Pochettino, the North London outfit also finished in the Premier League's top four three seasons in a row, with both Alli and Eriksen playing central roles.
