How Tottenham Hotspur could line up against Everton

Sports Mole looks at how Tottenham Hotspur could line up for their FA Cup showdown with Everton on Wednesday evening.

Tottenham Hotspur will be aiming to build on their much-needed victory over West Bromwich Albion when they travel to Everton for the fifth round of the FA Cup on Wednesday evening.

Jose Mourinho's men ended a three-game losing run in the Premier League by beating the relegation-threatened Baggies 2-0 in the capital, with Harry Kane marking his return with a goal, while Son Heung-min also got on the scoresheet.

Spurs have already seen off Marine and Wycombe Wanderers to get this far in the FA Cup, and Mourinho has plenty of selection headaches ahead of the weekend's clash with Manchester City in the Premier League.

With that in mind, Sports Mole looks at how Spurs could line up for Wednesday's game.

Kane's return at the weekend came sooner than many fans were expecting, and even though Mourinho has admitted that his side depend on the England captain, it might be unwise to risk him before the weekend's encounter with Manchester City.

As a result, Carlos Vinicius may be trusted to spearhead the attack from the first whistle, and if that is the case, it would not be a surprise to see Kane - who has struck nine times against Everton - come off the bench in what should be a hard-fought battle.

Vinicius could be supported in the attack by Gareth Bale and Steven Bergwijn, both of whom are yet to start firing on all cylinders this season, meaning that Son Heung-min could be granted a well-earned rest at Goodison Park.

Tanguy Ndombele will hope to feature in the number 10 role with Dele Alli still doubtful with a tendon problem, and Mourinho could shuffle the pack in the heart of the midfield as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has barely had a breather recently.

Harry Winks was nowhere to be seen against West Brom but could return to the fold here alongside Moussa Sissoko, while Eric Dier - who gave away the penalty in Spurs' defeat to Chelsea last week - will hope to earn a recall to the defence after being dropped against West Brom.

Ben Davies could be the only defensive player to retain his spot from the weekend with Sergio Reguilon out injured, as Joe Rodon, Matt Doherty and Joe Hart will all be vying for places in the first XI, and each member of the trio is likely to be granted a start against the Toffees.
