Half-Time Report: Sheffield United on course for fifth place

Mark McNulty fires Sheffield United in front against Chesterfield at Bramall Lane in the final game of their regular League One campaign.

Mark McNulty's first-half goal has given Sheffield United a 1-0 lead at the break against Chesterfield at Bramall Lane to keep them on course for fifth in the League One table.

Both teams started brightly and Che Adams saw a shot blocked for the Blades before McNulty forced Tommy Lee into a good save.

Jay O'Shea pounced on a slip by United defender Jay McEveley on 26 minutes, but his 25-yard effort was well held by Blades goalkeeper Mark Howard.

McNulty gave the Blades the lead just after the half-hour mark when he turned sharply on the edge of the box before firing home with a fierce effort.

O'Shea almost restored parity just before the break, but he could only drag his shot just wide of the goal.
