Real Madrid president Florentino Perez hints at Sergio Ramos stay

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez hints that captain Sergio Ramos could be set to stay at the Bernabeu, with the 34-year-old's contract up in the summer.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has hinted that talisman Sergio Ramos could be set to stay at the Bernabeu amid speculation over his future.

The 34-year-old is about to enter the final six months of his Los Blancos deal, but Ramos has remained a key player for the La Liga champions with 13 appearances and three goals in all competitions this season.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is confident that the Spain international will remain in the capital, and Perez has now hinted that Ramos could be persuaded to pen fresh terms at the Bernabeu.

Speaking at the club's AGM, Perez said: "We still trust in this team to achieve great things with players like our captain Sergio Ramos, who has just been selected into the dream team of the year for the 11th time.

"Last season, along with [Luka] Modric, [Eden] Hazard and Marcelo, they won titles with the values of our club's history, such as bravery, respect and hard work. The hunger to win titles is the same and that's why we want more."

Ramos has netted a century of goals for Real Madrid during his distinguished Blancos career, and all of the Premier League's big six have been credited with an interest in the veteran defender.
