Monday's Scottish Premiership predictions including Rangers vs. Celtic

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Scottish Premiership fixtures, including Rangers vs. Celtic.

Separated by nine points entering 2023, bitter rivals Rangers and Celtic kick off the new year by contesting another Old Firm derby on Monday.

The Glasgow giants meet at Ibrox, with the visitors aiming to extend their lead in the Scottish Premiership to double figures, while their hosts seek a fifth straight win in order to narrow the gap.

We say: Rangers 1-2 Celtic

Notwithstanding an impressive points tally since starting afresh under new management, Rangers have still looked vulnerable defensively and cannot hope to keep free-scoring Celtic at bay for a full 90 minutes.

Even with home advantage in their favour, the home side are likely to be exposed by their arch-rivals' speed of thought and movement; falling further adrift in the table after a bitter defeat.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Aberdeen vs. Ross County (Monday, 3.00pm)

Aberdeen and Ross County will take to the pitch for the first time in 2023 when they go head to head at the Pittodrie Stadium in round 20 of the Scottish Premiership on Monday.

Both sides, who head into the new year on a run of four consecutive defeats, will be looking to arrest their slump in form and strengthen their position in the league standings.

We say: Aberdeen 2-0 Ross County

On a run of four straight defeats, Aberdeen and Ross County will head into Monday's clash in search of a morale-boosting as they look to begin the new year on a high. Aberdeen are one of the most dominant sides at home this season and we are backing them to end their winless run against the Staggies.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Hearts vs. Hibernian (Monday, 3.00pm)

Kicking off 2023 with a fiercely-fought Edinburgh derby, high-flying Hearts host old rivals Hibernian at Tynecastle on Monday afternoon.

Leading the battle for the Scottish Premiership's 'best of the rest' behind the Old Firm clubs, Hearts beat St Johnstone in midweek; meanwhile, Hibs were thumped by Celtic to fall five points adrift of their neighbours.

We say: Hearts 2-1 Hibernian

Neither side have proved able to keep the back door shut for long this season, so a frenetic Edinburgh derby is likely to end with both teams on the scoresheet. With home advantage and recent form in their favour, it is Hearts who are set to shade it though - pulling further clear of Hibs in the table.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Kilmarnock vs. St Mirren (Monday, 3.00pm)

Seeking to pick up successive victories for the first time since August, Kilmarnock welcome St Mirren to the Rugby Park Stadium in their first home game of 2023 on Monday.

The Saints, on the other hand, head into the new year on a run of five consecutive away games without a win and will be looking to end this poor record.

We say: Kilmarnock 2-1 St Mirren

Kilmarnock have been near impenetrable on home turf, where they have won four of their last five matches across all competitions. Robinson's side take on an inconsistent St Mirren side who have struggled for results on the road and we are backing them to come away with their third home win on the spin.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Livingston vs. Motherwell (Monday, 3.00pm)

Livingston and Motherwell will be looking to kick off 2023 with a win when they go head to head at the Almondvale Stadium in round 20 of the Scottish Premiership.

While the home side are without a win in their last three outings, Steven Hammell's men head into the new year winless in six consecutive matches across all competitions, and both sides will be looking to end this dry spell.

We say: Livingston 2-1 Motherwell

While Livingston have suffered a drop-off in form, they have been solid at home in recent weeks. With that said, Motherwell should expect a tough 90 minutes at the Almondvale Stadium as they look to end the winless run. We predict an action-packed contest, with the Livi Lions claiming a slender victory in front of their home fans.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

St Johnstone vs. Dundee Utd (Monday, 3.00pm)

Seeking to pick up successive victories for the first time since October, Dundee United journey to the McDiarmid Park to take on St. Johnstone in their first away game of 2023 on Monday.

Callum Davidson's men are currently winless in five consecutive home matches against the Terrors and will be looking to end this poor record and kick off the new year on a high.

We say: St Johnstone 1-2 Dundee United

Buoyed by their victory over Ross County, Dundee United will head into the new year with renewed confidence as they look to strengthen their league position in the second half of the season. Fox's men have enjoyed success in their recent visits to the McDiarmid Park and we are backing them to come away with a slender victory against the floundering St Johnstone.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.
