Neil Warnock: 'Charlie Austin in no rush to leave Queens Park Rangers'

Former QPR boss Neil Warnock believes that Charlie Austin would be happy to see out his contract at the club before leaving in the summer.

Former Queens Park Rangers manager Neil Warnock has claimed that Charlie Austin is in no rush to leave the club during the January transfer window.

The 26-year-old was heavily linked with a move to a Premier League side during the summer having scored 18 top-flight goals as QPR were relegated back to the Championship last season.

The striker has endured an injury-hit campaign for the R's so far this term, and Warnock believes that he would be happy to see out his contract at Loftus Road, which expires at the end of the season.

"They probably should have sold him in the summer. I think they would sell him now," Warnock is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"I don't think Charlie is in a rush to go anywhere as he becomes a free agent in the summer. If he doesn't think it is the right move, I think he'll stay put until the summer when a lot of clubs will want him in the squad. He won't rush into anything."

Austin has scored 10 goals in 16 appearances for QPR this season, including one under Warnock when the veteran manager was in interim charge before Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink's arrival.
