Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew admits that he faces a fight to keep his star players at St James' Park this summer.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has admitted that his side are vulnerable to bids from clubs in the Champions League for their star players this summer.

Pardew faces a fight to keep his prized assets in the close season, with Hatem Ben Arfa, Yohan Cabaye and Fabrizio Coloccini all linked with moves away from St James' Park.

The Magpies has conceded that he may be forced to part with a key player if one of Europe's elite clubs meet their valuation.

He told The Sun: "We're one of those clubs where we're liable to lose one of our great players to a Champions League team through finance, and sometimes the will of the player.

"You can't keep a player who doesn't want to stay. Having said that, it's going to be very difficult for any club to get a player out of here unless it's a serious or big bid."

Newcastle endured a difficult end to their Premier League campaign, finishing 16th after winning just one of their last six matches.
