West Ham United are reportedly contemplating whether to launch bids for Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips and Southampton playmaker James Ward-Prowse.

West Ham United manager David Moyes is reportedly keen on signing Kalvin Phillips and James Ward-Prowse during the summer transfer window.

With the Hammers on the brink of guaranteeing European football for next season, Moyes is eager to strengthen the depth of his squad ahead of 2022-23.

Midfielder Mark Noble is retiring this summer, and with Alex Kral returning to parent club Spartak Moscow, West Ham will require at least two players who can feature in the centre of the pitch.

According to The Sun, West Ham may attempt to pull off the signings of Phillips and Ward-Prowse, who also have several admirers elsewhere.

While Phillips is committed to Leeds United, relegation to the Championship would lead to the England international becoming available for a lower fee.

Ward-Prowse, who recently penned a new contract at Southampton, will cost significantly more, and it is realistic to expect the duo to cost a combined total of well in excess of £60m.

Manchester United and Aston Villa are said to be rivals, particularly for Phillips due to the potential reduced valuation.
