Manchester United would want to sign Tottenham Hotspur attacker Christian Eriksen in January, according to Gary Neville.

Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has insisted that the Red Devils will be interested in signing Christian Eriksen in January despite the attacker's poor form for Tottenham Hotspur.

Eriksen has only contributed one goal and one assist 12 appearances for Spurs this season and struggled to make his mark against Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Denmark international was strongly linked with a move away from his capital club during the summer and is allegedly still keen to leave with his contract expiring at the end of the 2019-20 season.

The 27-year-old could be on his way in the January transfer window, and Neville has insisted that United, in addition to the likes of Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain, will be interested in the playmaker.

"[United would] take him tomorrow. I think he would [improve them]," Neville told Sky Sports News. "What you're seeing at the moment with Eriksen is a player who is not buying into what's happened. He's disinterested.

"He'll just switch it back on again when he goes to another club. Will Manchester United take him? Will PSG take him? Will Juventus take him? Free? Yes, they will, for free, they will."

Real Madrid were also linked with a swoop for Eriksen during the summer transfer window but are not believed to have submitted an official offer.
