Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in bringing AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori back to the Premier League.

Manchester United are supposedly keeping a close eye on the situation of AC Milan centre-back Fikayo Tomori.

Having failed to make the grade at Chelsea, Tomori was loaned out to the Rossoneri for the second half of the 2020-21 season before joining permanently that same summer.

The 25-year-old has since established a reputation as one of the top players in his position in Italy, starring for Stefano Pioli's side as they won the Serie A title last season.

Milan are set to cede their crown to Napoli this season, but Tomori has still played an important role continentally and domestically with one goal from 36 matches in all tournaments.

The England international has made 25 Serie A starts in the current season for Milan and completed the full 90 in both legs of their Champions League quarter-final success over Napoli, as the Rossoneri advanced to the last eight for the first time since 2007.

Back in August, Milan agreed a new long-term contract with Tomori until the summer of 2027, but the Daily Mail claims that Man United and Tottenham Hotspur are both interested in his services.

However, Milan are under no pressure to sell Tomori and intend to keep him for the foreseeable future, but a "huge" offer could be taken into consideration by Rossoneri chiefs.

Despite going from strength to strength at San Siro, the centre-back remains on the fringes of Gareth Southgate's England squad and has just three caps to his name for the Three Lions.

Tomori's most recent international appearance came in June's goalless draw with Italy in the UEFA Nations League, and he has since failed to earn call-ups for the World Cup or opening Euro 2024 qualifiers.

A return to the Premier League could potentially boost Tomori's chances of a more prominent role in the England setup, but it is unclear if the 25-year-old has any intention of going back while he remains one of the first names on Milan's teamsheet.

Tomori has three goals to show from 98 games in a Milan jersey since his initial loan move in 2021, prior to which he made just 17 appearances in the Premier League for Chelsea.

Man United are expected to part ways with Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones this summer, while the futures of Eric Bailly, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof are also clouded in uncertainty.

Monaco's Axel Disasi and Sporting Lisbon's Goncalo Inacio have also been linked with moves to Old Trafford, but a new striker is expected to be Erik ten Hag's number one priority.

Meanwhile, Tottenham failed to sign a centre-back permanently last summer, only bringing in Clement Lenglet on loan from Barcelona, and defensive reinforcements should be high on Daniel Levy's agenda.

Spurs are rumoured to be in talks with Barcelona over a permanent deal for Lenglet, though, and talks with Eric Dier over a new contract are reportedly progressing smoothly.
