Several clubs reportedly turn down the chance to sign former Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo on a £80,000-per-week deal.

A number of clubs have reportedly passed up the opportunity to sign former Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portugal international is currently without a club after United mutually terminated his contract following an interview with Piers Morgan on TalkTV, where he criticised the 20-time English champions, including the manager Erik ten Hag.

Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr have allegedly tabled a £173m-per-year offer, but Ronaldo is believed to be holding out for a European club.

However, according to The Sun, a number of sides have turned down the chance to sign the 37-year-old, despite United covering the majority of his wages.

The report claims that United would pay most of Ronaldo's £480,000 a week wages for the remainder of the 2022-23 season, which would require any new employer to cover the remaining £80,000 per week, but finding a new club is still proving to be difficult.

After being linked with the free agent, Chelsea and Bayern Munich are believed to be among those who have decided against signing the experienced forward.
