Angel Gomes tried to leave Manchester United on loan for another Premier League club before the end of the January transfer window, according to a report.

Manchester United youngster Angel Gomes reportedly attempted to leave Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side for another Premier League club on loan during the final stages of the January transfer window.

The 19-year-old, who has made six first-team appearances for United this season, will see his current deal at Old Trafford expire at the end of June.

The Red Devils have allegedly made it clear that they are prepared to pay the attacker in the region of £30,000 a week, but there has been no announcement on Gomes's future.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the attacker's camp tried to secure a last-ditch loan move to another Premier League club on Friday, but the 20-time English champions blocked the proposed exit.

Gomes was in action for the club's Under-23 side on the same night, starting their 2-1 win over Norwich City.

The England Under-20 international, who has made 10 first-team appearances for United in total, is thought to be on the radar of Barcelona, Chelsea and Leicester City.
