Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho: 'Speculation won't end with win'

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho says that the speculation regarding his job at Old Trafford will continue, despite a 3-2 win over Newcastle United.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has said he expects speculation over his future at Old Trafford to continue to dominate the backpages.

A report on Friday night suggested that Mourinho would be sacked over the weekend, although it was later claimed that the club's hierarchy are yet to make a decision over the Portuguese's position at Old Trafford.

United overturned a two-goal deficit to defeat Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday evening, but Mourinho thinks that he will continue to be linked with a departure from the North-West giants.

The 55-year-old told BBC Sport: "No. I go to London now and if it rains tomorrow in London then it is my fault.

"They gave me contract until July 2020. I have a contract to 2020, I didn't point a pistol at them. They give me the contract because they wanted to give it me."

United have now recorded 13 points from their eight games in the top flight this season.
