Liverpool will aim to win back-to-back games at Old Trafford for the first time since January 2002 during Sunday's Premier League clash with Manchester United.

Liverpool will aim to secure back-to-back wins at Old Trafford for the first time in 19 years during Sunday's battle with Manchester United.

Jurgen Klopp's side prevailed 4-2 at the Theatre of Dreams last term, but they suffered a 3-2 defeat in the fourth round of the FA Cup earlier in the 2020-21 season.

Should Liverpool take all three points in Sunday's crunch clash, it will mark the first time since January 2002 that they have prevailed in two Old Trafford encounters on the spin.

Both of the Reds' games in that run ended 1-0, with Danny Murphy scoring the winner in the 2000-01 Premier League season before repeating the same trick a year later.

A personal slice of history is also on the line for in-form striker Mohamed Salah, who will aim to become the first ever Liverpool player to net in three away games against Manchester United on the spin.

Klopp's men sit three places and four points above the Red Devils in the table ahead of Sunday's battle.
