Manuel Pellegrini to move to Paris Saint-Germain?

Outgoing Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini emerges as a candidate to take over from Laurent Blanc at big-spending Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

Outgoing Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has emerged as a contender to take over at Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

The 62-year-old announced yesterday that he will depart the Etihad at the end of the season, with Pep Guardiola subsequently confirmed as his replacement.

PSG are currently unbeaten in the French league and lead the way by a margin of 23 points, although there have been murmurs that manager Laurent Blanc could be on the way out.

According to media reports in France, the availability of Pellegrini has put him on the radar of PSG, who could have as much as £228m to spend in the summer transfer window.

Pellegrini is also said to be in the frame for the permanent managerial position at Chelsea.
