Ahead of Manchester City's trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers, Roberto Mancini has said: "I am confident I will continue to do this job next year."

Roberto Mancini has said that he fully expects to remain in charge at Manchester City beyond the end of this season.

The title-chasing Citizens are currently five points behind Manchester United in the Premier League table and there had been speculation that chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak would dispose of the Italian if his team are not crowned champions of England.

However, ahead of today's trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers, a defiant Mancini has rebuffed such suggestions.

He said: "I am confident I will continue to do this job next year.

"At the moment I am just concentrating on the last four league games and after that we can talk about the future.

"I think we have done a good job here this season and we have to play another four games. I really don't think we have any problems at the moment."

Wolves will be officially relegated to the Championship today unless they beat Mancini's City.
