Ralf Rangnick says that he can see Timo Werner staying at RB Leipzig for the long term, despite growing interest from the likes of Liverpool and Bayern Munich.

RB Leipzig manager Ralf Rangnick has said that he expects in-demand striker Timo Werner to stay at the club for the foreseeable future.

The Germany international is no closer to agreeing a new contract at the Red Bull Arena, meaning that he is set to become a free agent in less than 18 months' time.

Leipzig have reportedly considered cashing on on the 22-year-old, using rumoured interest from Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool to drive up his valuation.

Rangnick admits that an offer from Bayern could make things difficult for Leipzig, but he does not envisage the striker leaving any time soon.

"If Bayern are serious, then it will be difficult for us," he told Sky Germany. "But they often play with one striker, so I see him staying with us for the next two or three years."

Werner has scored 45 Bundesliga goals for Leipzig since joining the club in 2016.
