Liverpool make three changes to their side for the Premier League clash with Southampton.

Liverpool have made three changes to their side for the Premier League clash with Southampton.

Following the 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, Joel Matip comes in for Dejan Lovren at centre-back alongside Virgil van Dijk.

In midfield, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain replaces James Milner, while Georginio Wijnaldum is chosen ahead of Jordan Henderson, who does not make the bench.

Up front, Jurgen Klopp's preference is unchanged, with Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah all featuring.

Southampton boss Claude Puel makes one change to the side that defeated West Bromwich Albion last time out.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who was on the bench for that game, replaces Sofiane Boufal in midfield.

Elsewhere in the team, Alex McCarthy keeps his place in net, while Cedric Soares and Ryan Bertrand feature as the full-backs. Guido Carrillo starts up top.

Southampton: McCarthy; Cedric, Stephens, Hoedt, Bertrand; Romeu, Lemina, Hojbjerg; Ward-Prowse, Tadic; Carrillo
Subs: Forster, Yoshida, Davis, Boufal, Redmond, Long, Gabbiadini

Liverpool: Karius; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Can, Wijnaldum, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Mane, Salah, Firmino
Subs: Mignolet, Lovren, Milner, Moreno, Lallana, Ings, Solanke
