Former Newcastle United, Southampton and Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew is reportedly interested in the vacant manager's job at Leicester City.

Alan Pardew has expressed an interest in the vacant Leicester City job, according to a report.

The Foxes parted ways with Craig Shakespeare on Tuesday, just four months after the 53-year-old took the job on a permanent basis.

Shakespeare won eight of his 16 games in interim charge between replacing Claudio Ranieri in February and the end of the campaign, helping the club stay in the Premier League.

However, the 2015-16 champions have failed to get going in the opening two months of this season, currently sitting inside the relegation zone on six points from their first eight games.

According to Sky Sports News, former Newcastle United, Southampton and Crystal Palace boss Pardew is keen on applying for the Leicester job, which would see him return to management for the first time since being sacked by the Eagles in December 2016.

Guus Hiddink, Gary Rowett, Nigel Pearson and Sam Allardyce have also been touted as potential candidates for the Foxes role.
