Steve Bruce delighted with Hull City resilience in win over MK Dons

Hull City boss Steve Bruce hails the resilience of his team after they defeated MK Dons 2-0 in their Championship clash without performing to their best.

Hull City boss Steve Bruce has praised the resilience of his side to grind out a 2-0 victory in their Championship clash against MK Dons.

The Tigers took the lead in the 19th minute through Ahmed Elmohamady, but struggled to find a second goal as they lacked a clinical edge in the final third.

Bruce's men dug deep and killed the game off when Mohamed Diame found the net in stoppage time to secure the three points.

He told BBC Sport: "It was hard work. It was one of them dogged ones. All credit to the supporters who have made the effort to come down on a glorious day in a magnificent stadium.

"It's never easy and we didn't play that well. However, we showed a certain resilience and a doggedness to make sure that we won the game.

"My goalkeeper hasn't really made a save and there's one or two chances where we could have made it two, but fair play to MK Dons, they pass the ball around, they try and keep possession and it's not easy. We've done enough to win comfortably without playing well."

Hull moved up to second in the Championship following their win.
