Today's key events
Arsenal, Man City 'make contact with Premier League midfielder'
Arsenal and Manchester City have reportedly both stepped up their interests in signing one of their top midfield targets for the summer transfer window.
Since leaving Lyon midway through the 2021-22 season, Bruno Guimaraes has been a revelation in the Newcastle United midfield, shining both defensively and offensively.
After playing a fundamental role in the Magpies' push for Champions League football last season, Guimaraes has conjured up another six goals and eight assists in 49 matches during the current campaign.
However, Eddie Howe's side saw their Champions League journey end at the first hurdle, while a 3-2 loss to Manchester United on Wednesday night in the Premier League leaves them at risk of failing to qualify for Europe entirely next season.
Arsenal drop double transfer hint in new home kit launch?
Arsenal have unveiled their new home kit for the 2024-25 season, with the notable inclusion of two transfer-linked players in the club's official launch.
For the first time since the 1989-90 season, the Gunners will sport a red jersey with the cannon emblem on the front, as opposed to their more traditional logo over the past 35 years.
However, Mikel Arteta's men will not be permitted to wear their new strips on the final day of the 2023-24 campaign, as teams capable of winning the title must compete in their current kits.
As a result, Gunners fans must wait until the pre-season period to see their side don their fresh colours, but a plethora of players tipped to head for the Emirates exit door this summer may never be seen in the new kit.
Fernandes issues defiant response to Man United exit talk
Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has delivered a staunch response to suggestions that he could leave in the summer transfer window.
Since arriving at Old Trafford in January 2020, Fernandes has established himself as the club's standout player, and was made captain by Erik ten Hag.
A total of 79 goals and 65 assists have been delivered from his 231 appearances in all competitions, yet he remains with minimal silverware.
Fernandes's solitary trophy with the Red Devils is last season's EFL Cup, with United since under-performing in the Premier League during 2023-24.
Newcastle 'offer four-year contract to departing Bournemouth defender'
Newcastle United have reportedly offered a four-year contract to Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly.
The Magpies' European hopes received a blow in Wednesday's 3-2 away defeat to Manchester United, leaving Eddie Howe's side in seventh place and three points adrift of safety.
Even if Newcastle fail to secure European qualification, they are still expected to strengthen their backline ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.
The defensive duo of Jamaal Lascelles and Sven Botman are currently sidelined with long-term injuries, forcing Howe to form centre-back partnerships out of Emil Krafth, Dan Burn and Fabian Schar.
