Everton will reportedly attempt to secure a deal for River Plate playmaker Nicolas de la Cruz during the next transfer window.

Everton have reportedly expressed an interest in signing River Plate playmaker Nicolas de la Cruz.

The 22-year-old has established himself as a key man at the Argentine giants, scoring 11 goals and providing 20 assists from his 79 appearances.

According to Ole, that has resulted in Everton contemplating an approach for the player, who has just over a year left on his contract.

Given the current financial climate, River Plate are likely to be ready to cash in on De La Cruz, rather than risk his exit on a free transfer.

Although the Uruguayan has a release clause of €22m (£19.25m), Everton may look to reach a compromise with his current employers.

An unnamed team in the Bundesliga are also said to be monitoring the situation.
