Morgan Schneiderlin wants to "turn the page" at Everton following difficult spell

Everton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin says that he wants to "turn the page" on a difficult spell at Goodison Park.

Everton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has claimed that he wants to restart his career at Goodison Park following a difficult spell.

The France international reportedly had his dedication questioned by coach Duncan Ferguson during a training session last month.

As a result, Schneiderlin, along with teammate Kevin Mirallas, was left out of the squad that beat Watford 3-2 at Goodison Park.

With Sam Allardyce now in charge as the club's new manager, the midfielder has an opportunity to prove himself once again and secure a regular place in the first team.

"I want to turn the page," the Daily Mail quotes Schneiderlin as saying. "It was not nice for me to see those reports and it is part of football. I have to deal with it.

"First I read about it in the newspaper. I was as surprised as I could be. There was no incident. Since I play football you always have something to prove, that is part of being a player."

Schneiderlin signed for the Toffees from Manchester United last January for £20m.
