Derby County turn attention to Dale Stephens?

A report claims that Derby County are ready to turn their attention elsewhere in the pursuit of further options in midfield, with Dale Stephens their latest target.

Derby County are reportedly weighing up a £2.5m move for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Dale Stephens.

The Rams have been linked with numerous midfield options since losing Will Hughes to a long-term injury on the opening day.

Craig Bryson, Jeff Hendrick and Jamie Hanson have also been sidelined, which led to speculation that County were looking to lure both Jacob Butterfield and Tottenham Hotspur youngster Alex Pritchard to the club.

However, with things going quiet on that front, The Sun claims that Brighton's Stephens is the latest target on the list of manager Paul Clement.

Stephens, a former Charlton Athletic and Bury player, joined the South Coast club back in January 2014 where he has since gone on to score four goals in 33 appearances.
