Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly yet to open contract talks with forward Harry Kane, despite alleged interest from elsewhere.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly yet to begin contract discussions with forward Harry Kane.

The future of the England international is a constant topic for debate with the player regularly being linked with a transfer to another top European club.

Most recently, Bayern Munich have been credited with an interest in the 28-year-old with important figures associated with the Bundesliga champions speaking publicly on a potential.

In response, Spurs head coach Antonio Conte has accused those involved of 'disrespect', even with a transfer having little to no chance of materialising this summer.

However, with less than two years remaining on Kane's contract, there will soon be more urgency when it comes to resolving the current uncertainty.

According to football.london, Spurs are yet to instigate negotiations over fresh terms with their star man and long-serving attacker.

The report claims that Spurs officials have instead been focused on following through with Conte's desire to strengthen his first-team squad.

Spurs have made six notable additions this summer, including a commitment to spending in excess of £50m on Everton forward Richarlison.

The level of ambition comes off the back of earning a return to the Champions League, something which will only increase the chances of Spurs being able to retain Kane's services in the long term.

Nevertheless, Kane may wish to see further progress before making a decision on the next phase of his career, his primary desire to finally win some team silverware.

As it stands, Kane has contributed 248 goals from 386 appearances for Spurs, with 27 of those strikes coming during the most recent campaign.

Chelsea, like Bayern, are said to be monitoring the situation with the frontman, although that level of interest is unlikely to increase until next summer at the earliest.

Spurs are currently preparing for their final pre-season friendly of the summer against Roma before they kick off the new Premier League campaign against Southampton on August 6.
