Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick says that Chelsea have made 'a good transfer' if they are able to complete a deal for RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner.

Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick has conceded that Chelsea have secured a significant coup if they are able to sign RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner.

On Thursday evening, it was claimed that the Premier League outfit had edged out Liverpool in the race for the free-scoring Germany international.

Although Bayern have also been linked with the 24-year-old, Flick admits that Chelsea deserve credit for following up their initial interest in the player.

Speaking at a press conference, Flick told reporters: "Timo is a very good player, also a player who scores. I think Chelsea have made a good transfer, if that is so."

Werner, who has netted on 31 occasions this season, will allegedly cost Chelsea in the region of £54m.
