Chelsea are allegedly contemplating whether to offer £51m plus Timo Werner in a bid to sign Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt.

Chelsea are reporting considering whether to offer Timo Werner in a part-exchange deal to sign Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt.

The European champions are known to be in the market for a new frontman with Inter Milan's Romelu Lukaku currently being tipped to make the switch to Stamford Bridge.

Should the Belgium international return to West London, the Blues would switch their attention to trying to bring in another centre-back.

According to Calciomercatoweb, De Ligt has emerged as a potential transfer target with Werner an option to move in the opposition direction.

The report claims that Thomas Tuchel would give the green light to Chelsea putting together a £51m offer with Werner included in the proposal.

Werner endured a mixed opening season with the Premier League outfit, contributing 12 goals and 15 assists from 52 outings in all competitions.
