Half-Time Report: Farrend Rawson gives Rotherham United lead at Charlton Athletic

Farrend Rawson's goal gives Rotherham United a half-time lead away to Charlton Athletic.

Rotherham United are on course to pick up their first win of the season at Charlton Athletic, thanks to a goal from Farrend Rawson.

The Addicks looked to make a fast start at The Valley and nearly took the lead after the returning Igor Vetokele teed up Johann Berg Gudmundsson, but his strike was saved by debutant Lee Camp.

Gudmundsson then turned provider for Jordan Cousins, who fired a low drive, which was tipped away by Rotherham's new stopper.

Ex-Celtic frontman Tony Watt almost provided a breakthrough for the hosts when his cushioned header presented another chance to Cousins, but Camp managed to keep out his effort as United stayed on level terms, despite concerted pressure from the home side.

After Watt headed over for Charlton, Rotherham came close to edging ahead when Joe Newell's shot was saved by Nick Pope, before Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe missed the target with another effort for the Millers.

However, Steve Evans's side managed to take the lead as Rawson managed to beat Pope and put the Yorkshire side on course for their first win of the campaign.
