Robert Lewandowski scores late in the first half to cancel out Joaquin's opener, as Borussia Dortmund and Malaga head into the break level at 1-1.

Borussia Dortmund and Malaga have headed into the half-time interval of their Champions League quarter-final second-leg clash level at 1-1.

The first chance at Signal-Iduna Park came in the 16th minute and it fell to Dortmund.

Mario Gotze played in Robert Lewandowski, who tried to chip Wilfredo Caballero in the Malaga goal from outside the box but failed to keep his attempt on target.

That saw Jurgen Klopp's side start to dominate proceedings and possession but without any end product.

However, it was Malaga who broke the deadlock in the tie and the goal came on 25 minutes, Isco and Julio Baptista linking up to set up Joaquin, who fired home from the edge of the Dortmund box.

Dortmund did not panic and restored parity six minutes before the interval through Lewandowski.

Lukasz Piszczek and Gotze combined to release Marco Reus, who flicked the ball with his heel to the Polish striker to tap home from close range.
