Aston Villa are reportedly showing interest in Burnley striker Chris Wood, with his current club valuing the New Zealand international at over £30m.

Aston Villa have reportedly added Burnley striker Chris Wood to their list of possible transfer targets, amid interest from two other Premier League clubs also.

The 29-year-old scored 12 goals and provided three assists for Sean Dyche's side in the league this season, meaning that the New Zealand international has hit double figures in his last four consecutive Premier League campaigns.

Current Villa striker Wesley is believed to have been given the green light to leave Villa Park this summer after an injury-hit season, with the club potentially willing to loan out the Brazilian forward.

Football Insider reports that if Wood is to replace Wesley in the Villa squad, it will cost the West Midlands club a figure in the region of £30m.

With other top-flight clubs interested in Wood's signature, a bidding war could see his transfer fee increase to £40m, after Burnley brought Wood to Turf Moor from Leeds United in 2017 for a club-record £17m.

Wood has gone on to score 50 goals in 144 appearances for Dyche's side and still has two years left on his contract in the North-West.
