Dimitar Berbatov had the first chance of the evening for the hosts, but after being picked out in the box, he put his header just wide of the post.

Lucas Ocampos gave Monaco the lead in the 17th minute when he finished at the back post following Tavares Fabinho's low ball across the box.

Berbatov should have found the net on the half-hour mark when he latched on to a poor punch from the keeper, but fired the ball wide of the post.

Monaco added to their lead at the end of the first half, as Berbatov arrived at the front post to finish past Rudy Riou.

The home side scored a third in the 54th minute when Emmanuel Riviere raced on to a through-ball before slotting past the keeper.

Fabinho grabbed a fourth goal soon after, as he fired in from close range and Ocampos slotted in at the back post in the 67th minute to make it five.

With five minutes of the match left, Monaco scored their sixth when Loic Landre put through his own net to seal a comfortable home win.
