Leeds United closing in on Arsenal starlet Sam Greenwood?

Newly-promoted Leeds United are reportedly close to snapping up 18-year-old forward Sam Greenwood from Arsenal.

Leeds United are reportedly closing in on the signing of Arsenal youngster Sam Greenwood.

The 2019-20 Championship winners have already snapped up a number of teenagers since earning promotion to the Premier League, bringing in Charlie Allen from Linfield, Joe Gelhardt from Wigan Athletic and Cody Drameh from Fulham.

The Athletic reports that Arsenal's Greenwood is the next player on Leeds' wishlist and that a deal could be done this week.

The 18-year-old, who plays mainly as a striker but is also capable of playing on the wing, has previously been linked with Italian champions Juventus.

Greenwood would initially be expected to join up with Leeds' Under-23 team rather than competing for a place in Marcelo Bielsa's first team.
