Mesut Ozil: 'I have good relationship with Arsenal boss Unai Emery'

Mesut Ozil is adamant that he remains "very happy to play for Arsenal" and insists that he has a "good relationship" with new manager Unai Emery.

Mesut Ozil has reiterated that he remains "very happy to play for Arsenal" and insists that he has a "good relationship" with manager Unai Emery.

Arsene Wenger's successor was forced to deny reports of a bust-up with Ozil after the German missed last month's win over West Ham United through illness.

Making his 200th Gunners appearance, the 29-year-old scored what proved to be the decisive goal in Saturday's 2-1 victory over Newcastle United.

"I am very happy to play for Arsenal and especially for the new coach," Ozil told BBC Sport at full time.

"He knows what he wants and the team accepts that, we have a good relationship. We score and we are happy, even the players that don't play, we are all a team."

Ozil's landmark Arsenal appearance came exactly five years since making his debut following a then club record £42m move from Real Madrid.
