Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Arsenal - De Bruyne, Stones and more

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester City's injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League clash with Arsenal on Sunday.

A blockbuster Premier League title showdown takes centre stage at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon as reigning champion Manchester City play host to leaders Arsenal.

The Citizens played out an enthralling 1-1 draw with fellow title rivals Liverpool at Anfield before the international break, extending their unbeaten run in all competitions to 22 matches.

With 10 Premier League games remaining, Pep Guardiola's men sit third in the table and only one point behind both second-placed Liverpool and leaders Arsenal, who beat Brentford 2-1 in their last top-flight fixture and sit pretty at the summit by virtue of a superior goal difference.

Man City have had their fair share of injury concerns following the international break, and here, Sports Mole rounds up their latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest with Mikel Arteta's side.

Kyle Walker

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Kyle Walker was forced off with a hamstring injury in the first half of England's 1-0 friendly defeat to Brazil and later withdrew from the Three Lions squad. The defender missed first-team training on Thursday and Guardiola has since confirmed that he will miss Sunday's clash with Arsenal.

John Stones

Status: Out
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: Unknown

John Stones was also substituted early on England duty in a 2-2 draw with Belgium on Tuesday after picking up a groin issue, and Guardiola has since confirmed that the defender, along with Walker, will miss Sunday's contest.

Kevin De Bruyne

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: March 31 (vs. Arsenal)

Kevin De Bruyne was omitted from the Belgium squad earlier this month due to a groin problem, but the playmaker has since been pictured in training this week and Guardiola has revealed that he could be ready to return against Arsenal.

Ederson

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: March 31 (vs. Arsenal)

First-choice goalkeeper Ederson picked up a muscle injury in Man City's 1-1 draw with Liverpool before the international break, and although reports following that match suggested that he would be sidelined for up to four weeks, Guardiola has since revealed that the Brazilian is feeling "much better" and could play on Sunday.

Matheus Nunes

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Foot
Possible return date: March 31 (vs. Arsenal)

Matheus Nunes was not involved in Portugal's friendly defeat to Slovenia as he required treatment for a knock to his foot, but the midfielder returned to Man City training on Thursday and could be fit to return to the matchday squad on Sunday.
